INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY 2021

We held a panel discussion tagged ‘MY JOURNEY AS A WOMAN IN ANIMATION’ on Tuesday, 8th March 2021 to commemorate International Women’s Day.

Members of the panel were Damilola Solesi of SMIDS ANIMATION STUDIO, Eguvwe Majomi Yugbovwre of AJEBOTOONS, and Yetunde Olamide Ogundipe of BEEREEL PICTURES while Korede Johnson of BASEMENT ANIMATION STUDIO moderated.

They discussed their success story, challenges encountered, and how other women can carve a niche for themselves in the Animation Industry.

We also had a session where we walked our participants through the production process of Emeka’s Money Short Film. It was a very exciting experience for them as they saw firsthand how we produce animation.

Beyond this event, Basement Animation Studio will be organizing an Internship Program for women that want to pursue careers as Script Writers, Voice Over Artists, Character Designers, Storyboard Artists, or Animators. More details on this will be coming soon.
